[You have reached the voice mailbox of ...Vinnie. Please leave a message after the tone.

...

BEEP!

Or drop him a text. He's been really into that lately. Specify date and time and which boy you just saw Sasha talking to so he knows who to punch.]

[She looks down at her slightly burnt hands, and the tingling sensation that comes when her tears hit them...she ruined everything.

And then does something incredibly stupid. Brave nature can sometimes make you do terrible things. In a half-attempt to try to fix what turned out wrong, she runs after him in the corridor.]

Vinnie! Wait!

[As mad as he was, here was no way Vinnie could actually block out and ignore the call of his little sister - he just wasn't wired that way. So he stopped in his tracks and turned back around to face her, just to see what else she had to say for herself.

Did he look happy about it? Not even a little bit. He doubted there was any one thing she could say or do that would lift this pissed off mood that had been building pretty much all winter.]

[All the face pouting, do you see it? There are some tears but mostly she is trying to look imposing.]

You. Are. An asshole who assumes too many things.

[She walks closer, branding a finger, pushing it to his chest.]

You think that you understand me, but you really don't. Sometimes I wonder why we even got along at all...it's not like we did at first.

[And she walks even closer. SLAP! It's a light tap to his face, all things considered. There's no weight to it.]

That's for thinking that I wouldn't tell you if I was dating a guy. [Pointing a finger while he's still dazed.] I trust you, okay? STOP BEING PARANOID! I was only worried about this person because it seemed so fishy to me. I just needed to hear it out of your own mouth. If I was dating anyone, you'd be the first to know. I would never keep it a secret from you. You want to know why?

[She grabs him. And gives him a kiss that is a little too close near the lips for comfort and lasts just barely a second, but it's more personal than she's ever done with him before. Then, pushes him a way. Wooha what the hell Sasha, tat is a terrible way of showing you care. It's leaivng her with definitely mixed feelings herself too. It's okay tho...okay no it's not, she looks completely confused at what she did herself, A++ work there, champion Charizard]

I like you Vinnie. As a teammate, as a friend as...what am I even saying you already know all this crap.

[Pause]

You're an asshole...but I guess that's why I like you. You're important to me. That's why I wouldn't keep secrets away from you.

[Except maybe this one. Or is it a secret. Or is it just caring? SHE DOESN'T KNOW ANYMORE. And then, in a show of utter bravery and deep respect for him and how he might answer back...

She runs out of there.

Guess even her brave nature has to run out, sometimes.]

[Vinnie was about to counter her accusations with his own - she had the gall to say that shit to him when all he ever did was try to look out for her? He gave up so much to protect her, and she had no way to understand the toll it took on him. She'd already hid her dates from him, it didn't matter if they were just friend-dates or a casual crush. He didn't see the distinction, and he just expected... hell if he knew anymore.

Shock muted all the indignation, anger, hurt inside him in that brief moment, and before they could trickle back Sasha had grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him in.

This wasn't really happening. His brain shut down, rejecting the information coming in, the words she was saying. All Vinnie could focus on was the sick feeling blooming in his chest, one he couldn't understand. He could only grasp this alien discomfort by funneling it into the deep well of frustration holed up in him.

The lack of control he had on his life was suffocating. Maybe he just didn't know his little sister anymore. Vinnie just didn't know anything anymore. Whatever that kiss had meant...

Clearly, it was time to sulk off and fume.]
