Admittedly, Marie would have preferred a little warning before he was hugged. He just sort of stood there, still, for a second, his face pressed into his brother's chest. As soon as he got over the fleeting uncomfortable feeling, Marie returned the hug. Vinnie hugs were sort of the best.

He searched for something simple to say, but only managed to mumble a fairly out-of-place;]

[It was a short hug, if only because Vinnie pulled away to get a better look at Marie's face. The smile still wasn't leaving his face, but it had become a touch more flustered, a little flattered.]

Heh. What're you thankin' me for?

[Marie returned the smile, looking equally flustered. He didn't look at Vinnie, but rather looked at his feet, still a bit bashful.]

I dunno. I guess, like, I mean... Having that in there? It's sort of, like, to say thank you. I dunno.

[Vinnie rested his hands on the Wartortle's shoulders and beamed proudly. You could be a troublesome little brother at times, Marie, but moments like these - knowing he thought of his family and knowing how he tried to grow - made it worth all the more.]

[That earned Vinnie a direct look and a rather bashful grin.]
