This carnival thing wasn't too bad at all. I snapped some shots on my phone while I was there, and they're pretty goddamn inspirational. Figured there'd be some of you who'd be interested. Y'know, if you missed the highlight of the hotdog eating competition.










Anyways. It's almost the 22nd. S'not really a birthday, I mean, how the hell're you supposed t'remember what day you're born when you don't have calenders? But it's as good a time as any.

So I'm taking off for a few days to go home and check up on things. I don't really get how you guys celebrate birthdays. Makes more sense t'me that if you're gonna make a deal of it, it should be about the people who made you.

It's been a long while since I saw the Garden in spring.

If you think I never had t'change anything about myself, you'd be wrong. I've screwed myself over with some fucked up decisions. I've thrown out a lot of things on the way. Then one of these days, I'm likely to piss away everything I've worked for a second time.

Yeah, Bulbasaur are easy Pokemon t'raise. Loyal for life and all that. At least they are if they're starter bred. No one catches wild Bulbasaur. Just cuz we're up to our petals in nature-loving doesn't mean we take well t'being owned.

You already know what you want. You ought'a know what Bulba and Green and the rest've your team want better than I do. If those two things add up to 'stop being a Charizard,' then you're the one that's gotta size up what's worth more t'you. That's what I mean. I ain't mistakin' you for Bulba, believe me. This brand of condescendin' bullshit's a Red team signature. Poor, tragic, misunderstood soul went and got his ass rescued by his special-snowflake friendship squad, and now he gets to have his warm fuzzies playin' the life coach for the pitiful masses. I've heard this kind of shit from your lot more than enough times.

I gotta say, blamin' me for Bulba's problems is one I've only seen outta you, though. Charitard prefers the "you don't know what it's like to have it rough" approach. You should try that one out next time.

Call it what you want. Just cuz you think it's obnoxious and condescending doesn't make me wrong. You think I get my kicks like this? It's fucking embarrassing watching you make an ass of yourself when we're supposed t'be rivals.

Bulba's a strong kid. He can handle himself. But Saurs can't function without a family. And you can't say your approach to life's big fuckin' problems has zero influence on him. You're his brother, that means you're a role model. I don't know why he felt it was necessary to do what he did, but... don't think he hasn't pulled anything reckless and self-destructive too.

So give yourself a pat on the back, your life was hard. Whatever. What good does that do for anyone? You don't know what it's like t'have obligations. If you can tell me that's not true, then I'll shut up.

I got no clue what got into his head, but the kid knows better than to make some no-future asshole his role model. If Bulba were genuinely proud of you for acting up, I wouldn't have a problem. Somehow, I don't think he is.

You know what? You're right. I do wanna blame you for something he did. I wanna blame your whole team. Even if he acted on his own, the fact is I never figured Bulba to do something that reckless if he didn't learn it from somewhere.

But I get the feeling what you're thinking of and what I'm thinking of are two different things here.

And as much as I wanna help him, I can't. You know why? Cuz I'll never be a replacement for you in his eyes. Won't matter if I suddenly turn into the best fuckin' Venusaur in the world.
